TEACHING

I acquired English as a child in Kuwait, where I spent 5 years from the age of 8 to 13. I attended a British school there called New English School. English therefore is like a second native language to me.I also started my French studies there.
After returning to Hungary, I immediately took and successfully passed the Advanced Level State Language Exam. Concerning French, I continued with it in high school, and later on in the College of Business. At graduation, I managed to achieve the Advanced Level Professional State Language Exam in both languages. Later on, I also took up German, which I speak at Intermediate level.
I started teaching adults in company courses in 2002. I have been teaching ever since. I have had both one-to-one and group classes, I enjoy both types of teaching. My groups rarely exceed the number of 8 students, since I believe the ideal number of language students is below that.
In the last 7 years I've taught at firms such as Allianz Insurance Company, MOL Oil Company, OTP Bank, OTP Pension Fund, Generali Insurance Company, MTV Hungarian National Television, Generali Insurance Company, T-Mobile Telecommunications, Central Band of the Hungarian Army, and so on. Of course, at the same time, I've also had a lot of private students, many of which managed to pass all kinds of different language exams.

As far as my "method" is concerned, I believe in communication focused language teaching. Perhaps it's because I myself acquired English by listening and speaking. Of course I know that children acquire a language much more easily, but this experience led me to the idea of trying to make my students speak as much as possible in the classroom.
Therefore at my lessons we try to discuss everyday topics, often in a very informal way. During my teaching years, I've had the chance to work from, and with, a number of course books. For general English, I've used the Headway series, Cutting Edge, English File, etc. For workplace English, I've taught from International Express, for business English, I've covered all of the Market Leader books.
